With the programs and technology we have at our disposal, photography of any kind has never been more interesting. I personally love taking pictures, but prefer it when I am out and exploring the landscape. From city scenes, to woodland walks, I always try and capture a good image.
Whether you utilise a professional camera, or merely your mobile phone, there are so many ways to get into and enjoy this hobby. If you do want a starting point though, maybe these ideas will get you off the blocks, and up and running wit this hobby.
I've never been fortunate to own a specialised, and professional camera which allows me to take full advantage of this hobby. What I have enjoyed is the amount of photographs I have been able to take with my trusty phone from various travels around the country. Not forgetting trips abroad too, as my phone comes too!
I have always been quite fond of exploring and walking our lovely countryside, luckily I have always had a decent phone in order to snap a shot. I have hundreds of pictures of landscapes, hills & mountains, forests, and old buildings including ruins; Some of which have been a brilliant scene point for my writing hobby which is great from an inspiration point of view.
It works relatively simple, a decent picture of a landscape can easily inspire me to generate a scene in a story, preferably a fantasy story if I am walking in the woods. It's even better if there is a river nearby, or even a ruin. Then, there is the fun part, meaning you can edit the pictures using the fantastic programs and technology we have these days. It doesn't really matter if it's on your laptop, or an app on your phone. You work with what you have.
If you are anything like me and have looked at the cost factor of being involved in this hobby. Check out these items to see if you can jump into it from a starters point of view. From lighting, to cameras, yes, I know the latest mobile phones are fantastic, but there is nothing quite like having a new piece of kit that is actually meant for these singular purposes.
As much as I do like to take pictures, which is a lot depending on where I am. I have found that there are a lot of accessories that can make your life easier if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a professional camera, at least not as your starting out. For me, I can snap an image if I'm out on a walk, and play around with it in the editor, then get inspired to create a scene for a story.
Today, the 4th of April. I headed out to get some fresh air and created several pieces of content in the form of singular pictures, and short videos. I only used my phone, but the filters really brought the greenery of the woodlands, and the blue of the clear sky out making them look great. I have posted some of them in my gallery on this site.
Good morning and happy Sunday. It's the 16th of April. So, this blog is mainly about being out and about exploring and snapping a picture. Then, using that picture to perhaps inspire a bit of writing, which is my other blog. They all tie in nicely. But I found something while looking for a gift for a friend, something fantastic. I need to share it. How many times have we stumbled on a bee, a tiny little vitally important insect on the ground, or any surface, not moving? Well, check this out! How would you feel if this actually worked for you. It's a bee revival kit, a tiny keyring with a miniscule lifeforce that could help one of those little things on back on they're way. I think it's one of the coolest thing's I have ever seen.
